I also have plans to put together a pretty beefy server that will use Proxmox as a hypervisor and virtualize everything I currently have running bare metal on my really old home server. I wouldn't be able to play the more demanding games on anything but the new build, but I don't consider that a huge deal. My plan has been to build a new box for my living room that will have the hardware to play whatever I throw at it. The main problem I have is that I do not have a box that has the hardware to play harder to emulate games, such as Ratchet and Clank. Lets me game on my laptop from anywhere via VPN. Allows me to game on multiple computers with uniform experience on each PC I setup. I then setup PCSX2 on each PC I want to game on and point PCSX2 to the server via SMB share. I currently store my ROMs, saves/states, BIOs, etc. Feel free to re-direct if another one would be better. I'm not sure if this is the best sub for this, but I'm going to start here.
